About
As an autodidact who loves solving complex problems, my path to where I am today was anything but linear.
My career started over two and a half decades ago, programming real-time SCADA industrial automation systems. Shortly after, I decided to move over to a corporate route, spending over a decade in business operations and executive roles, ultimately serving as executive assistant to the chairman of a multinational group, where, among other things, I managed business turnarounds, restructuring supply chains, and navigating enterprise strategy. I learned exactly how businesses operate, scale, and sometimes fail.
But after reaching those highs, I realized I missed rolling up my sleeves and doing the tactical work of making things better—optimizing systems and processes at the ground level. I wanted the never-ending cycle of learning and application, something that the technology domain provides. So, I started over. I went back into the trenches and emerged as a full-stack web developer and cloud infrastructure engineer, meticulously learning how modern systems work under the hood.
When Generative AI emerged, I was initially skeptical about its utility and reliability. But once I started integrating it into my workflow—using it to explore problems, accelerate knowledge work, and reason through complexity—it became indispensable. I transitioned from working purely from first principles to orchestrating solutions alongside AI.
However, I quickly realized that AI is not a magic button. It is a massive multiplier for those who already know what they are doing. Because I did the hard work of mastering the underlying engineering principles first, I know how to design the architecture, direct the AI to accelerate the build, catch the mistakes it inevitably makes, and move my applications beyond fragile proofs-of-concept to enterprise-grade solutions.
Today, I run Thiru AI Labs, a solo AI systems studio, where I:
- architect and develop agentic AI systems and SaaS products
- offer consulting services for teams building agentic AI systems
- document and share my hard-won lessons and expertise publicly, right here
